Training of dramatic voices

Dramatic voices especially need a sophisticated, healthy singing technique. The ability to work on the big roles of the dramatic fach. Bring them to the stage in a way that is not harmful to the voice. With my teaching you will find support in building a healthy and resilient vocal technique.

To achieve this, I use:

  • My own high singing experience and philosophies based on the Swedish-Italian Singing School.
  • My stage experience in more than 30 roles as a Dramatic soprano.
  • My many years of teaching experience.
  • My extensive experience dealing with singers with vocal problems of all kinds and successfully resolving them.

Upon request, I offer a mentorship program individually tailored to each singer.  This includes:

  •  Individual coaching, if required with Skype support
  • Voice care and singing lessons
  • Support in role studies
  • Development of a work-life balance concept

What excells a dramatic voice?

The main characteristic of a dramatic voice is that it sounds powerful and energetic throughout its entire range. It is essential that a dramatic young singer learns a safe, healthy singing technique that meets the professional demands of everyday stage life. Dramatic singers must be able to sing beautifully and with great power over a voluminous, large orchestra, for example in the operas of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. This means not only to challenge the voice in fortissimo but also to sing in piano and mezzoforte full and with an unmistakable, free swinging timbre.

How long does a dramatic voice have to learn?

The development of a dramatic voice takes several years and, in my opinion, is certainly not completed after a university degree. It is particularly important in the transition to the profession and in the first few years of its career that it is well looked after. Especially in the dramatic opera literature it is important that the rehearsal takes place with a trustworthy singing teacher and additional coach, e.g:

Musicality and rhythm
Acting skills
Voice training and care
Stage performance
External presentation
Auditions etc.
