Bootcamp for dramatic voices: Wagner/Strauss with Vera Wenkert

Your success as a singer is guaranteed if you sing with a healthy and complete “polished” vocal and musical interpretation and authentic stage craft. We concentrate on young dramatic singers and professional singers in the dramatic field. Nowadays, a singer has not only to be convincing technically and vocally, but also have a compelling stage presence. In this master class we work on role interpretation, vocal technique, preparation for a professional career and the development of your own artistic personality.

In this boot camp, 6 dramatic singers have the possibility to work on all of the requirements for a successful audition or to “polish” extracts of a role with our knowledge of music and vocal technique and dramaturgical context. We support you with the exclusive skills and expertise, joy, mindfulness and passion that come from our many years of stage experience.

Instructors
• Vera Wenkert: dramatic soprano (performed more than 30 dramatic roles on various opera stages), expert in the repertoire of R. Wagner and R. Strauss, vocal specialist, leader and founder of the international Institute StimmKunst.
• Pianist: Ann Beckman: Expert in the repertoire of R. Wagner and R. Strauss. Long-standing head of the music department at the Zurich Opera. For many years solo coach at the Salzburg Festival and guest coach at renowned opera houses such as La Scala, the Hamburg State Opera and the Moscow Bolshoi Theater.

Course time: Friday, 17.1.2020 from 1-6pm and Saturday, 18.1.2020 from 11am-3pm

Course fee: CHF 500 (max. 6 active participants, no passive participation possible)
